GPE LG G Pad 8.3 now getting the Android 5.0 update

LG G Pad 8.3

Customers of the GPE LG G Pad 8.3 will be pleased to know that the device is receiving the Android 5.0 update this week. Stock Android devices have been receiving the update over the past couple of weeks, with all the Nexus devices barring the cellular Nexus 7 now running the latest build of Android. HTC’s GPE One M7 and One M8 on the other hand reportedly faced some issues with the update which has led to the delay in rollout.

If you don’t see the update right away on your G Pad 8.3, you can manually download the official update file from the XDA Forums. One of the key advantages of getting a GPE device such as this is the frequent software support that they enjoy, regardless of the hardware on board. There are plenty of other GPE devices in the wild that are awaiting the Lollipop update, so don’t lose hope if you don’t see it on your device yet.

For those who prefer to wait for the official OTA, the update should start rolling out over the coming days.
