Google Play Store updated to version 5.1.11 with some new features

Google Play Store v 5.1.11

The Google Play Store on Android is getting an update to version 5.1.11 which brings some nifty changes to the fore. The changes are mostly visual, as the Play Store received a significant Material Design overhaul not too long ago. Version 5.1.11 introduces a new My Account page which lets you view and edit all or some of your payment methods. This page also provides access to the apps that you recently downloaded, which was previously available in the My Apps section.

The update also introduces a new longer navigation sidebar, which removes the minor animations. Google has also been mindful to add card shadows for that consistent and realistic look. This is only accessible on Android 5.0 running devices though. The scrolling within the app has been dramatically improved as well, which is always a welcome addition. Overall, it’s a very good update for the Play Store app, although the lack of animations might be a little disappointing for some users.

If you’re impatient enough to wait for the update to reach your device, you can now download the official apk file from the link below. Since this is coming directly from Google, it has been verified to be safe and will replace the existing version of the Play Store.
