WhatsApp Messenger has received a new update which brings the ability to know when a message has been read. If a message has been delivered, you will see two grey ticks next to the message. But now, when a message has been read by the user, those ticks change to blue. What’s better, users can tap those ticks and check when exactly the messages were read. This is a feature borrowed from Facebook, which is no surprise given that WhatsApp is owned by them now.
The update should gradually begin rolling out to all compatible Android devices over the coming days. Since it’s an OTA update, it will have to arrive on its own on the Play Store. Unfortunately, we don’t have an apk file to share with you right now.
It might take a couple of days to arrive on your smartphone depending on your location. But rest assured, the feature is well on its way to your Android device. If you were lucky enough to get the update already, make sure you drop a line below and share your thoughts with us. WhatsApp enjoys a massive user base across the globe, so this new change will affect a wide range of users. At the moment, it’s not clear if WhatsApp will offer users the ability to turn this feature off. But it’s a good addition nonetheless.
