Sprint has started rolling out the Android 4.4.4 update to its version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 just a few weeks after the global rollout began in late October. The update brings some enhancements to performance and the usual range of bug fixes, but nothing beyond that. The user interface and TouchWiz in general will mostly remain unchanged, with Samsung saving most of the changes for the major Android 5.0 update later this year. The update also brings support for international WiFi calling and an HD Voice icon on your device.
As is the nature of such updates, the Galaxy S5 owners on Sprint will receive an OTA notification when the update is made available in your region. Alternatively, you can also head over to the Settings to download the update manually. It’s commendable of Sprint to quickly rollout the Android 4.4.4 update for its version of the Samsung flagship. Carriers in the past have been relatively slow with update rollouts, but it’s good to know that’s changing.
