The Android 5.0 update is already expected to arrive on major flagships from 2014, but what about devices from last year? Samsung has now announced that its flagship from last year, the Galaxy S4 will start receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update right after its current flagships (Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4) get it.
It is said that the Exynos model (GT-I9500) will receive the update by early 2015 with other variants and carrier models to follow suit subsequently. However, we must note that there’s every possibility of Samsung delaying the update rollout as it’s still not confirmed information.
Features wise, the smartphone should receive all that we’ve seen on early builds of Android 5.0 running on the Galaxy S4. However, hardware constraints could mean that some of the features will be missing. Needless to say, Samsung will ensure that it modifies the TouchWiz skin on the smartphone so as to enhance the user experience to a great extent. Do you still own a Galaxy S4? What do you make of this news?
