No, Samsung isn’t launching a “new” Advanced S Pen

Advanced S Pen

Samsung is holding a developer conference in San Francisco where the company is believed to have uncovered a new “Advanced S Pen“. Various news outlets are reporting this to be a new S Pen which could be sold separately. These reports also indicate that the new stylus will be supported by the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. Now why would Samsung upgrade something as important as a stylus just a month or two after the upgrade was done with the Galaxy Note 4? Here’s why.

In reality, what Samsung showed off during the developer conference is nothing but the S Pen that is supplied with the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. But the fact that the Korean manufacturer decided to talk about it separately during the event gave birth to speculation that there’s going to be a new S Pen for the latest Galaxy flagships. This is clearly not the case as you can ascertain by heading over to the official Galaxy Note 4 webpage and compare it with what’s mentioned on the image above. So if you recently purchased the Galaxy Note 4 or the Galaxy Note Edge, there’s no need to worry as your smartphone already has the Advanced S Pen.
