Motorola to start Android 5.0 soak test for the 1st gen Moto G tomorrow

Moto G

Starting tomorrow, Motorola will begin soak testing of the Android 5.0 update for the first gen Moto G (dual SIM). Although there’s no word on whether standard single SIM variants of the Moto G will start receiving soak test invites, it shouldn’t be far away now.

The second gen Moto G also started receiving updates through a soak test earlier this week, so a widespread rollout should be right around the corner. Motorola is already sending out the Android 5.0 update for the Pure Edition 2014 Moto X, with no word on the first gen model yet.

It’s good to know that Motorola is keen to update its midrange and high end devices with the latest version of Android. In fact, Motorola has rolled out the update even before Google did for its Nexus smartphones and tablets, so it’s certainly a commendable effort from the manufacturer.

If you own a first gen Moto G, an update to Android 5.0 should be right around the corner.
