HTC launches Rapid Charger 2.0 with the ability to charge phones up to 40% faster

HTC Rapid Charger 2.0

Just as Motorola launched the Turbo Charger accessory for its smartphones, HTC too has something similar of its own known as the Rapid Charger 2.0. This is based on Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology which is built into its new gen chips such as the Snapdragon 800, 801 as well as the 805. HTC has listed the device as being compatible with the HTC One M8, One M8 Harman Kardon Edition, One E8, the Desire Eye and the One Remix.

The One M7 from last year is also compatible with the Rapid Charger 2.0, although it won’t work as efficiently as on the current crop of devices as it sports a Snapdragon 600 chipset. HTC claims that this can recharge your device up to 40% faster compared to the regular charger which makes this a nifty accessory to have.

Unfortunately, HTC is yet to spill details on pricing and availability but we expect it to cost close to $35-40 considering the cost of the Motorola Turbo Charger. Would you be interested in picking one of these up for your HTC smartphone.
