HTC has just offered some good news to customers of its GPE devices with the One M8 and the One M7 all geared up to receive the Android 5.0 update starting next week. This was expected considering the fact that Google has just started rolling out the Android 5.0 update to its range of Nexus devices.
The news was given in response to a user query by HTC’s popular Twitter voice, @moversi. He didn’t divulge specific details as to which variant will be the first to get it, but we’re not ruling out a simultaneous rollout of the update at the moment. The One M8 and One M7 GPE have been quite popular with the public and since they’re running stock Android, it was always expected to receive the update before the Sense UI variants.
Only a couple of days ago did Google start the rollout of Android 5.0 for the Nexus 5, Nexus 10 and some variants of the Nexus 7 with the Nexus 4 yet to get it. So going by that, HTC’s plans to rollout the update early next week is certainly commendable.
