It wasn’t too long ago when it was discovered that the AT&T branded Nexus 6 would feature plenty of bloatware apps and a custom carrier logo on the back. Today we’re hearing that the device has some more carrier specific customization in tow with a new boot animation, different from the regular version of the Nexus 6.
The new images accessed of the AT&T Nexus 6 also show the carrier’s logo on the back as we saw in a leak last week, so it seems like customers will have to make do with another inconvenience while getting the handset. It will be interesting to see whether Verizon and Sprint will have branding on their model with the latter promising to keep its variant clean and uncluttered with carrier branding.
Verizon has been known to add branding wherever possible (think the Verizon Galaxy Note II), so we don’t think the Nexus 6 will be exempt from similar treatment. The AT&T branded Nexus 6 will shortly arrive on customers’ doorsteps with the brick and mortar stores expected to get it sometime before the weekend. Make sure you walk into a carrier outlet and have a look at the Nexus 6 before making the purchase.
