Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware shown off on the Samsung Galaxy S4 [Video]

Galaxy S4

After getting two glimpses of the Android 5.0 build for the Galaxy S5, we’re now seeing the same build running on last year’s Galaxy S4 smartphone, courtesy of a video from Sam Mobile. This appears to be coming straight from Samsung as it has multiple TouchWiz elements accompanied by the standard set of Material Design features.

Samsung is expected to roll out the Android 5.0 update to the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4 first while last year’s flagships shouldn’t be too far behind. Previous reports had claimed that the Exynos version of the smartphone would receive the update, with Samsung confirming the update shortly after, so this isn’t actually a surprise to us. It will be interesting to see as to how long we’ll have to wait in order to see the official update roll out to begin.

Revelations such as these are certainly a good sign and tell us that the company is hard at work to bring the next major Android release to its flagship handset from 2013. Do you like what you see on this early Android 5.0 build on the Galaxy S4?
