ZTE Grand X Max launching via Cricket Wireless this week for $200

ZTE Grand X Max

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has just announced the arrival of the Grand X Max smartphone through Cricket Wireless starting Oct. 10. The smartphone has an enormous 6 inch display, but with an off contract price of just $199.99, it promises to attract a wide section of consumers. The phablet will most likely remain an exclusive to Cricket Wireless in the U.S., at least for the foreseeable future.

The Grand X Max is packing a mammoth 6 inch panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 200 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 3,200 mAh battery which promises to last long intervals given the low power display and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 1.0 technology on offer.

While 6 inches is clearly pushing the limits for a smartphone, the market has responded in the affirmative towards large screen handsets. Google is almost confirmed to be launching a 5.9 inch Nexus smartphone this year keeping this particular phenomenon in mind. If you’re not too convinced with the size of the Grand X Max, make sure you head over to a Cricket Wireless outlet this Friday and have a look for yourself.
