The AT&T Galaxy Note 8.0 Is Finally Getting KitKat 4.4.2

Yes, that title is correct. The AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has finally gotten its KitKat update. The Wifi variant got the update back in May, so this has been a long time coming.

This isn’t the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop, but at least the Note 8.0 is finally getting KitKat. You’ll get all the usual KitKat improvements, along with the Beats Music app from AT&T. These are the full release notes:

  • Android OS Version upgraded to 4.4.2 with all Security patches
  • Beat Music app pre-loaded
  • GMS apps update (GMS 4.4.2_r2)
  • Multi User Mode

So if you have a Galaxy Note 8.0, you can finally get KitKat onto your device over Wifi. Hopefully Android 5.0 Lollipop will be released for this device in the future as well.
