Samsung launches the Galaxy Core Max with a 4.8 inch display

Samsung Galaxy Core Max

Samsung has just launched the Galaxy Core Max smartphone in China as a larger variant of the widely popular Galaxy Core. Noticeably, the smartphone is a midrange offering but with a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The smartphone is also revealed to be packing a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, although the make is not known. Leaks in the past have indicated that the device packs a 64-bit SoC, so it’s likely that Samsung is using the new breed of Qualcomm chips.

The smartphone also comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and a 2,200 mAh battery. The smartphone is currently limited to the Chinese markets with no word on global availability as of yet. Pricing details haven’t been provided at the moment, but expect the handset to be priced moderately to fit into the budget segment.
