Samsung Gear Live getting the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update

Samsung Gear Live

The Samsung Gear Live smartwatch is now receiving the latest Android Wear 4.4W.2 update. This comes just a few days after the LG G Watch and the Moto 360 started getting the update. It carries the same set of bells and whistles as the G Watch update, such as the ability to hide notifications on the watch face and a wide range of bug fixes. Although the 4.4W.2 update enables software support for GPS, the Gear Live lacks the necessary hardware, so customers won’t be able to reap benefits of this feature.

But the update finally lets users play music directly from the smartwatch by pairing a set of compatible Bluetooth headphones. This is a nifty feature to have if you plan on using the smartwatch independently of a smartphone. Make sure you’re on the lookout for this OTA update as it brings a wide array of changes to the smartwatch. But if you’ve already seen the said update on your smartphone, make sure you let us know by dropping a line below.
