NVIDIA announces Android 5.0 update for the Shield Tablet

NVIDIA Shield Tablet Android 5.0

As Android 5.0 Lollipop was announced yesterday, we’re beginning to see manufacturers coming forward with word on the status of the update for their devices. After Motorola and HTC shared details on the compatibility list, NVIDIA too has joined the list today by announcing the update for the Shield Tablet. The manufacturer hasn’t given away a precise date for the update rollout, but it is good news nevertheless.

NVIDIA also mentions that there will be more features to look forward to, so it’s possible that the company will include something new with the update. Considering that the Shield Tablets run a relatively stock version of Android, we don’t think there will be any visual changes onboard the Lollipop update. So if you own a Shield Tablet, you can be assured that NVIDIA has the latest version of Android cooking specially for you. There’s no information on whether the NVIDIA Shield handheld Android console will get the Lollipop update.
