LG has launched yet another variant of the G3 handset known as the G3 Screen. Apart from featuring a mammoth 5.9 inch 1080p display, the smartphone is the first from the company to come with its own NUCLUN chipset. This is an octa core SoC based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture with a quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 and 1.5 GHz Cortex-A15 processor. The smartphone supports LTE Cat-6 networks and is backward compatible with older LTE networks as well.
The G3 Screen also comes with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera, a 3,000 mAh battery and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It appears to be an exclusive to the South Korean markets for the time being, so there’s no word on whether the handset will be available elsewhere. There’s no word on the pricing either, but it seems like the G3 Screen will be priced in line with the company’s recent flagship to make it an attractive offering to the customers.
