HTC Clarifies Which Devices Are Getting Lollipop

With the final version of Android 5.0 Lollipop coming to consumers hands soon with the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, other manufacturers are readying software updates for their own non-Nexus devices.

Motorola has already confirmed that a majority of their older phones will be getting updates, and now HTC has as well. So far, they have confirmed that both the original 2013 HTC One (codenamed M7) and the 2014 HTC One (M8) will both be getting Lollipop updates within 90 days of HTC getting the final code from Google.

Now as to other devices such as the One Max or the new Desire Eye, HTC says they will be getting their updates after the M7 and M8 do. So if you have another HTC device, you will have to wait until they announce their plans for those specific devices.

So if you have a device from HTC that’s fairly recent and/or part of their HTC Advantage program, you should be getting your Lollipop update sometime soon.
