Android 5.0 Lollipop is expected to bring a flurry of changes to the system. And one among the many changes is going to be made with the Gmail app according to a new revelation. The app which currently supports only Google accounts will finally support email accounts from other providers like Yahoo or even Outlook.
Users with both Google and non-Google account can perform a simple swipe to switch between accounts. It’s quite a nifty addition and one which will make lives a lot easier for customers, especially if they rely on Exchange for emails.
In the past, people willing to access mails from a non-Google account had to rely on the standalone email client supplied with Android devices. But this addition will finally mean that users can access all their mails from one app. Gmail for Android is also getting some nifty Material Design related upgrades which brings attractive colors across the board.
It’s not known if Google is limiting access to just Yahoo and Outlook accounts at the moment, but we won’t be surprised to find more third party email providers added to the list.
