Android 5.0 demoed on the Samsung Galaxy S5 again

Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0

A new leak has given us a second look at Samsung’s implementation of the Android 5.0 ROM with TouchWiz on board. We saw an early version of the TouchWiz branded Android 5.0 ROM running on a Galaxy S5 not too long ago and this here appears to be a slightly polished version of the ROM.

There are some changes from the old ROM especially in terms of user interface, so it’s clear that this is nowhere near finished. While the ROM is not specified as Lollipop, the source code does make a mention of Android 5.0, meaning it’s not the latest build of Lollipop being used on the device.

The firmware version on this ROM is now LRX02E while the old ROM was LRW58J. You can catch all the new features from this Android 5.0 ROM for the Galaxy S5 via the video below. Unfortunately, there’s no ROM available for download at this point as it’s reportedly not suitable for daily use. But as it improves over time, we can expect updated builds to arrive on forums across the internet. Samsung is expected to start the rollout of Android 5.0 for the Galaxy S5 by December.
