Samsung Galaxy Avant on T-Mobile getting Android 4.4.2

Samsung Galaxy Avant

T-Mobile is now rolling out the Android 4.4.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy Avant smartphone, bringing along the customary suite of changes and bug fixes. The carrier appears to be quite busy today as it rolled out a minor update to the LG G3 just a few hours ago. The update to the Galaxy Avant brings WiFi calling and also enables VoLTE on the device according to the carrier’s official support page.

The update size is just 103MB, so it’s not imperative that you’re on a WiFi network before downloading it. As always, the carrier recommends that the device has at least 50% of battery before going forward with the installation. The support page mentions that there’s no OTA update available for this particular device, so you will have to manually download it by heading over to Settings – System – About device and hit the Software update button.

The update can also be installed using the Samsung Kies software on your computer. You can find the complete instructions for that below.
