Samsung bringing the Gear S to the U.S. this Fall

Samsung Gear S - Black

Samsung and AT&T have just announced the arrival of the Gear S smartwatch in the U.S. This Tizen based wearable will be available for purchase in over 125 AT&T retail outlets starting this Friday on the 26th of September. The likes of T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon are also expected to carry the Gear S, although there’s no word on when.

One of the highlights of the Gear S is the fact that it can operate with a SIM card, meaning it can function independently from a paired device. AT&T will probably have some attractive data sharing plans for the smartwatch when combined with another Samsung smartphone. The carrier is expected to offer the smartwatch as a bundle along with the Galaxy Note 4 which is expected to break cover in mid-October.

As you might know, the Gear S is only compatible with a handful of Samsung devices, which is the case with every Tizen wearable that we know of. The smartwatch comes with a unique curved design which wraps around the wrist comfortably and is able to receive or reject calls, write messages and do pretty much everything you can think.
