Retail packaging of the second gen Moto G leaks out

Moto G2

The Moto G successor is expected to break cover in a few days from now. And as we head towards the announcement, it’s only natural to come across leaks giving us a better idea of the device. This new image, supposedly accessed from Indian retailer Flipkart shows us the alleged retail packaging of the device, but the device is still mentioned as the Moto G.

Perhaps Motorola took this step to avoid familiarity with the LG G2, which is the Korean manufacturer’s flagship from 2013. It is likely that Motorola will simply call this the new Moto G or the 2014 Moto G, much like how Google named the two iterations of the Nexus 7 tablet. Thankfully, we’re not too far away from getting confirmation straight from the horse’s mouth.

The second gen Moto G is expected to pack a 5 inch 720p display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage possibly with a microSD card slot, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC, dual SIM support and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Considering the marginal upgrade in specs, the pricing shouldn’t be too far apart from the existing models of the Moto G.
