Play Store’s Material Design update revealed in screenshots

Google Play Material Design

With Google inching closer towards the launch of the Android L operating system, we are expecting to see some major design changes to its core apps. Google is expected to be making these changes keeping the Material Design philosophy in mind. Today, we’re getting a first glimpse of the version 5.0 update of the Play Store thanks to a fresh batch of leaked screenshots accessed by Android Police.

Needless to say, the app has been designed with Material Design elements, which is basically more colorful than what we see today. But that’s a welcome change considering that we’re expecting a major Android overhaul with the upcoming L release. It is yet to be ascertained if the changes are limited to just visual elements or if there will be some new features blended into the system as well. Overall, it seems like Google has colored the categories such as Apps, Music etc a little darker than what we’re accustomed to.

What do you think of these changes to the upcoming version of the Play Store?
