A patent filing from not too long ago revealed the alleged keyboard case from the Nexus 9 tablet. And today, we’re getting our first live glimpse of the said case thanks to an NCC (National Communications Commission) certification listing from China. We can see the key layout in its entirety including what appears to be a couple of dedicated emoji keys. The mechanism seems pretty straight forward, with the flap covering the top of the display while the keyboard lies underneath.
There’s ample space for the tablet to rest upright, which is good news. Since the case appears to be coming directly from HTC, we can expect it to be tailored to meet the requirements of the tablet accordingly. There’s no clear view of the charging port in these pictures though, but we hope to have a better look of it in the coming days.
HTC and Google are expected to unveil the Nexus 9 tablet possibly on the 8th of October, so there’s not much longer to wait. Launching a keyboard accessory with the tablet makes it very clear that Google and HTC are targeting the productivity oriented customers as well.
