Interested in a budget smartphone which offers ruggedness and protection from water? T-Mobile has you covered. Starting this Friday, the carrier will start selling the Kyocera Hydro Life handset in its retail outlets packing a largely midrange hardware specs sheet. We’ve seen multiple rugged smartphones from Kyocera in the past, especially on smaller carriers like Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile.
Users will have to shell out $124.99 for the Hydro Life, not including taxes and fees, which is still quite reasonable for a budget water resistant smartphone. T-Mobile’s subsidiary, MetroPCS, will also carry the handset but on the 29th of August. So the customers have multiple options to buy the smartphone.
The Hydro Life packs a 4.5 inch 960 x 540 resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2,000 mAh battery. T-Mobile is yet to share specific details on the hardware of the smartphone, but we expect to learn more by Friday when the device becomes officially available. The handset is IP57 certified, meaning it can last for up to 30 minutes when submerged in a meter of water.
