An oddly shaped camera from Sony was leaked in pictures last week and the company has finally unveiled the device earlier today in China. Known as the KW1, it serves its purpose as a standalone camera sporting a 3.3 inch OLED display which acts as the digital viewfinder.
The device comes with features such as WiFi, NFC etc for seamless sharing on the go. The lens is surrounded by Swarovski crystals, giving it that premium look. Sony has gone with a 19.2-megapixel sensor with a 21mm f/2.0 lens which can rotate 180 degrees to give you a shot at almost any angle. There’s a dual LED flash as well.
The Sony Kw1 is available in pink, green, orange and white colors and is primarily targeted towards women. Availability is slated to commence in late September according to Sony China’s website. With a price tag of 5,199 CNY or $845, it’s certainly not going easy on the customers’ wallets. It seems like the device is limited to the Chinese market for the time being, but don’t be surprised if it slowly expands into other regions soon.
