Sony Xperia Z1s on T-Mobile gets Android 4.4.4

Sony Xperia Z1s

One of the few Sony smartphones to be available in the U.S. is the Xperia Z1s. The smartphone which is only available through T-Mobile (C6916) in the region is now getting the latest Android 4.4.4 update. Among the customary bug fixes, the update also brings along a transparent navigation bar as well as some new themes and an updated boot animation. Most notably, the update also carries support for the Sony Smartband SWR10 which is the company’s latest smart wearable.

Users should be on the lookout for build number 14.4.B.0.37 if they own an Xperia Z1s with T-Mobile. As is usually the case with updates of this nature, customers might have to wait a few days to spot the OTA on their device. But if you own the smartphone and have already received the update, make sure you drop a line below with your thoughts on what’s new. Considering that the Xperia Z1s comes with Sony’s custom skin on top of Android, the rollout time has been quite quick.
