Offline playback on YouTube teased again

YouTube Offline Playback

We have been hearing reports about Google introducing a new offline playback feature for YouTube on Android which would pre-download the video for later viewing, without requiring an internet connection. This feature has been teased again in a new screenshot on the Play Store listing of YouTube, which shows a new option in the sidebar for offline playback.

It’s quite an interesting feature to have and very beneficial if you’re not on a data connection all through the day. It has been said that YouTube would only allow users to cache in the videos for a few days, after which it will be wiped from the offline list. As of now, there’s no specific word on when the feature will be officially merged into the YouTube app, but if these screenshots are anything to go by, we might not have to wait long. It’s quite official since it is coming directly from Google’s Play Store listing.

So what do you think about a feature like this on your favorite video streaming app?
