We have heard rumors about the Meizu MX4 for quite some time now, although the device never really got announced. The company has now started issuing invites for an event scheduled for the 4th of September with the specific purpose of launching this oft rumored handset. Originally, the MX4 was one of the early 2K display phones expected to don the markets.
In addition to the 5.5 inch 2K resolution display, the smartphone is expected to be packing a 20.7-megapixel camera from Sony, the octa core Samsung Exynos 5433 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 4G LTE support and a latest build of Android KitKat with the company’s proprietary Flyme OS user interface. It is said that the Meizu MX4 will also have a variant with a slightly underwhelming specs sheet, possibly a 1080p display model carrying an older version of the Exynos chip.
The top of the line Meizu MX4 will reportedly cost CNY 2,499 ($407) when it hits the markets while there’s no word on the other variant yet. The first week of September is turning out to be quite eventful for us tech fans, with the likes of Sony and Samsung already scheduled to announce flagships.
