Late last week, we spoke about ASUS’ plans to launch a smartwatch at the upcoming IFA event. The company has now partially confirmed this by issuing a teaser for its September 3 event in Berlin. The teaser reads – “Time has been transformed, and we have changed“, a clear hint at the upcoming smartwatch announcement. In the background, we can clearly see a silhouette of a smartwatch, giving us an early glimpse of its design as well.
It has been said that the ASUS smartwatch will have a better design and a much lower price tag, which is something we’re very keen to find out on Sep. 4. From the teaser image, it is clear that the ASUS smartwatch won’t be a Moto 360 like offering and will have an almost oval shaped design. Hardware details are not available at the moment, but we won’t have to wait long to get an idea of that.
Considering the lack of Android Wear smartwatches in the market today, ASUS will hope to make the most of it with this new offering. Motorola will be launching the Moto 360 starting September 4, so the Taiwanese manufacturer will have its work cut out.
