Xiaomi Sells 26 Million Devices In First Half Of 2014

While some device manufacturers are experiencing declining sales numbers and year on year growth, Xiaomi has experienced a massive growth in both of those areas. Earlier today, Xiaomi co-founder Bin Lin announced on Facebook that his company has sold 26.1 million smartphones in the first half of 2014, a 271 percent increase in sales from the same period last year.

Xiaomi sold 18.6 million handsets in all of 2013 and looks to be hitting their target of 60 million sales by the end of 2014. The increase in sales has also resulted in a revenue increase of 149 percent from 2013, giving them CNY33 billion ($5.3 billion) of revenue so far this year.

Of course, Xiaomi’s expansion into new markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and upcoming India has helped them with this rise in sales. And if they follow through with their plans to expand into the 10 new markets they are aiming for besides these 6, they will surely hit all of their sales targets.
