Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 getting Android 4.4.2

LG G Pad 8.3

Verizon’s variant of the LG G Pad 8.3 has started receiving the Android 4.4.2 update, long after the unlocked variants started getting the update. It fixes some of the plaguing issues pertaining to server connectivity as well as media playback through the speakers. This is in addition to the customary Android 4.4.2 related changes such as new notification bar icons, support for cloud printing and the ability to create multiple user accounts.

The change will be quite noticeable as the users will be switching from Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean, which is quite old in the Android ecosystem. The usual suite of performance updates will be on board as well. Luckily enough, Verizon has published the changelog to better understand what’s new with this update.

Although the update has started rolling out to devices already, it might take some time to reach all devices. Make sure you tap the settings icon and check for a manual update if you don’t see the notification yet.
