Unlocked HTC One M8 now getting the Android 4.4.3 update

HTC One M8

The Android 4.4.3 update is now rolling out to the unlocked variants of the HTC One M8, just a few days after the Sprint version got the update. Don’t be alarmed by the version of Android as HTC promises this update has all the OpenSSL fixes related to Android 4.4.4. So in theory, the update is only Android 4.4.3 in name and Android 4.4.4 in terms of actual functionality, which means users can breathe a sigh of relief.

The update is a touch over 529MB in size, so it is advised to be connected on a WiFi network before downloading it. There won’t be a lot of visual changes with the update, especially to Sense UI, but it could bring a marginal improvement in performance. The update should gradually make its way to all devices across the globe and could take a few days to complete. If you’ve been lucky enough to see the update on your unlocked HTC One M8, make sure you let us know by dropping a comment below.
