Shazam will allow users to stream full songs within the app via Rdio

Shazam has grown immensely since it originally broke cover as a music tagging service. And the developers are taking big strides in taking it even further with the help of a new update. This update will finally bring the ability to stream full songs directly within the app, courtesy of paid streaming service Rdio. The update will make its way to Android sometime soon, so it’s pretty big news if you’re a frequent user of Shazam.

For this to work, users will need an Rdio subscription. Previously, users were navigated to a browser to stream tagged music, but with this update it will all be done directly through the app. With the update, Shazam will be able to create an Rdio playlist automatically based on your recently tagged songs, which is quite a nifty feature to have. Users can manually add songs to their playlist as well.

The update is currently reflecting on the iOS version of Shazam, but the Android update shouldn’t be far off.
