Samsung’s much awaited metal flagship could be known as the Galaxy Alpha

Galaxy S5 Prime - Galaxy Alpha

The Samsung Galaxy F is one of the few smartphones to remain in the rumor mill for so long. A new report is now suggesting that Samsung could call this the Galaxy Alpha. It’s fitting for a device of this magnitude to be known as the Alpha since it’s for the first time that Samsung will have a metal frame on an Android smartphone (and with a 2K resolution display as well).

It is said they the device will be announced in August, just ahead of the IFA event in order to take on the new iPhone launching in September. So we could be looking at two new Samsung flagships by September as the company gears up to announce the Galaxy Note 4 during the IFA event in early September.

At the moment, we only have info on the name of this smartphone with the hardware yet to be confirmed. But previous reports have suggested that the handset will feature a 2K resolution display, a metal chassis, the Snapdragon 805 chipset and a 16-megapixel camera. We expect more leaks to give us a better idea of the device in the coming weeks.
