With the Galaxy S4 zoom, Samsung showed the world once again that it wasn’t afraid of trying out new form factors and product categories, even if it meant having an extremely fat and unwieldy device with a phone and full-fledged camera assembly put together. Today, the company is bringing the software on its camera-centric phone up to date with the latest and greatest – Android 4.4.2 KitKat is now rolling out to the Galaxy S4 zoom.
The update is currently out in Russia, but it shouldn’t long before it arrives stateside. As with other KitKat updates, this one includes features and improvements such as faster performance, a redesigned status bar with white icons, wireless printing support, easier access to music controls along with full-screen album art, new keyboard, camera shortcut on the lock screen and much more. A few new features from the Galaxy K zoom might be included as well, though that isn’t confirmed at this point.
The KitKat update carries build number C101XXUBNF4, and you can check to see if an update is available by going into the Settings » About phone menu, or by connecting your Galaxy S4 zoom to a computer and firing up Samsung Kies. Leave a comment below if your device has received the update.
