LG’s upcoming mini smartphone will be known as the LG G3 S

LG announced the G3 Beat in China not too long ago, suggesting that it could be the much awaited mini variant of the G3. However, a leaked German user manual suggests that the smartphone could break cover as the LG G3S instead, indicating that the G3 Beat is a China only offering. Evleaks revealed a press render of the LG G3S a few days ago, so its existence is known to us. The model number of the smartphone here is D722V which is supposedly headed towards Vodafone in the region.

The user manual doesn’t shed light on the specs of the smartphone, but we’re assuming the hardware will be pretty identical to the G3 Beat. This means we’ll get to see a 5 inch 720p display, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 2,540 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The smartphone is also expected to pack 4G LTE, which is decent for a midrange offering.

The LG D725 has been rumored to be AT&T’s version of the smartphone, so LG is not limiting the launch of the smartphone to just Asia and Europe. We expect other carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon to have their own variants as well.
