LG launches KizON wearable for kids

The LG KizON wearable has just been announced by the Korean manufacturer with a very unique yet familiar concept. This is a smartwatch like device (sans the display), but meant only for kids. It comes with sensors like WiFi and GPS to tell parents exactly where their kids are. The device can be managed with the help of a companion app on Android, pretty much like a conventional smartwatch.

The KizON comes with 128MB of storage, 64MB of RAM and a 400 mAh battery which supposedly lasts 36 hours. This smart wearable will be sold in pink, blue and green color variants with availability slated to commence immediately in South Korea while the U.S. and Europe will reportedly get it by Q3 2014.

In addition to providing real time location details, parents can also call their kids directly. And the call is automatically answered if it isn’t received within 10 seconds, which will allow parents to know what’s happening around their kids in times of danger. The kids can also call their parents with the dedicated button on the smartwatch. Only one parent can receive a call, though.
