Future ZTE smartphones to come with Google Now launcher by default

ZTE Blade Vec

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has seemingly had enough of custom skins and the time it takes to develop. Starting with its upcoming Android devices, the company has decided to use the Google Experience Launcher or Google Now Launcher. This should make updating of devices much easier and more streamlined compared to how it is now. It will also give users quick and easy access to Google Now, which is the premier information hub on Android.

ZTE has mentioned that the first smartphone to use the said launcher will be the Blade Vec 4G. The smartphone is already available in regions of Asia and Europe but with the ZTE custom skin installed. It is possible that the company will eventually roll out an update with the Google Now launcher for customers who don’t want the stock launcher.

There are several third party launchers available in the Play Store, but using what Google offers by default appears to be a logical move from ZTE. The likes of Samsung, LG and HTC rely heavily on their custom skins to stand out from the competition.
