Certification database confirms the existence of the NVIDIA Shield tablet

NVIDIA Shield Tablet

The NVIDIA Shield tablet has been rumored on many occasions before and a new certification page over at the Global Certification Forum confirms its existence. The site doesn’t provide details on the tablet itself as it only reveals the Shield tablet moniker.

However, it doesn’t take a genius to guess that the device will be running state-of-the-art hardware, including the company’s newest Tegra K1 mobile SoC. Even though Android gaming hasn’t reached its full potential yet, the future does look bright with several big ticket developers looking to build games suitable for next gen hardware.

It will be interesting to see how the NVIDIA Shield tablet will be designed and if it will feature physical buttons like the Shield. Or perhaps NVIDIA could have a standalone gaming controller independent of the tablet. Size will obviously be a concern for a tablet of this caliber, which will be a challenge for NVIDIA to overcome. It is being said that the tablet will be unveiled on the 22nd of July by NVIDIA, so we won’t have to wait long to find out.

What do you think of a potential Shield Tablet? Will you be willing to get one of these?
