Taiwanese manufacturer BenQ has just announced two new budget ranged smartphones called the F5 and the T3. As these are low cost offerings, the specs sheet is nothing to write home about, but that’s not necessarily a concern as pricing is the key selling point here.
The T3 is the smallest of the two and comes with a 4.5 inch 960 x 540 resolution display, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage with a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a VGA front camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with BenQ’s Q Home UI layering.
The F5 on the other hand is relatively bigger with its 5 inch 720p display and also comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the back, a 2-megapixel front camera, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 quad core chipset, 1GB of RAM, 8 or 16 of storage options and Android 4.4.2 with Q Home.
Both handsets are LTE compatible with Taiwan’s local networks, which is a bonus for a budget offering. The F5 is priced at NT$7,990 or $267 while the smaller T3 costs NT$6,990 which is about $234.
