Back casing of a new Motorola Droid smartphone leaks out

Motorola Droid

We all know that Motorola is hard at work bringing the Moto X successor to the world. But a new leak from Hong Kong has revealed something for fans of Verizon’s Motorola DROID lineup. According to the source of the leak, what you see in the image above is a back casing of this upcoming DROID smartphone.

It’s certainly got the makings of a Motorola device as the Kevlar pattern is quite prominent here. And it’s clearly not a device we’ve seen before, so it could very well be the real deal. Motorola launched the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and the Droid Mini on Verizon almost an year ago, so it’s only fair to assume that a successor would be on the cards.

We’re not sure if there will be three new devices like last year as it’s too early to tell, but it seems like Motorola will have something for the American customers after all, despite being acquired by Chinese manufacturer Lenovo. And that massive hole beneath the camera sensor is probably there to show off the Motorola logo.

We suggest you take this leak with a pinch of salt as there’s no confirmation yet. What do you think of a potential new Droid smartphone from Motorola?
