Samsung could launch the Gear 3 smartwatch in September

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to break cover at this year’s IFA event as has been the norm over the course of the years. However, we might be in for a bit of a surprise according to a report coming out of Korea Herald. It is said that the manufacturer will also launch the Gear 3 smartwatch during the course of the event, thus indicating that Samsung is looking to launch two Gear devices every year.

The company launched the first gen Galaxy Gear back in September last year along with the Galaxy Note 3. But we were taken by surprise when Samsung announced the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit in roughly six months.

This is a very early report, but it makes sense especially considering Samsung’s marketing strategy. It was initially believed that Samsung will be showing off the Galaxy Wear head mounted wearable with the Note 4, although that hasn’t been ruled out yet.

There’s still some time for the IFA event to kick off, but we can expect our ever active Android community to give us a better idea of what to expect from the Korean manufacturer in the coming months.
