Samsung Gear 2 getting the Fleksy Messenger app

Fleksy Gear 2

The Samsung Gear 2 was revealed to be supporting the Fleksy keyboard in time for its launch. The makers of this popular keyboard have now announced a standalone messaging client for the smartwatch called Fleksy Messenger. The idea of a standalone messaging client for a smartwatch seems impractical at first thought, but given Fleksy’s experience with making predictive keyboards, usability shouldn’t be much of a concern. Users can download the app for their Gear 2 smartwatch via Samsung Apps for free starting today. One caveat here though is that only supports the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo at the moment as the app has been built specifically for the two smartwatches.

The app isn’t available in the Play Store yet, but with the imminent arrival of Android Wear, we can expect a version of Fleksy Messenger to be available on Google’s new smartwatch OS as well. Fleksy has been kind enough to provide us with a video demonstration of the app running on the Gear 2 to give us a better idea of its working.
