We’ve known that Samsung is prepping the launch of the Galaxy S5 Mini, but sadly there wasn’t a lot of info to go with. That changes today with a series of images showing the smartphone in action and confirming its imminent arrival as well. To make it more convincing, the device was sized up against the Galaxy S5, clearly showing the disparity in size.
Along with the leak of these new images, Sam Mobile was also able to gather details on the hardware of this smartphone and it doesn’t look all that flattering. But features like the fingerprint scanner and the heart rate monitor are available with the Galaxy S5 Mini, which should make up for the otherwise average hardware specs sheet.
The report suggests that the handset is packing a 4.5 inch 720p display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a quad core Exynos 3 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz, 4G LTE support and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with most of the software features we saw on the Galaxy S5. It is said that the Galaxy S5 Mini will also be water and dust resistant like the bigger sibling although there is no protective covering on any of the openings.
We have no word as to when Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy S5 Mini, but it’s safe to assume that we’ll possibly see it very soon given that it’s being spotted in the leaks already. So who’s excited?
