The Huawei Ascend P6 is now making the jump from Android 4.2 to Android 4.4, by skipping Android 4.3 altogether. As you would expect, this is a pretty massive update coming from Android 4.2, so things will be substantially different after the update. This is also a testament to Huawei’s commitment towards providing the latest version of Android to its device owners, despite having a relatively poor history with updates.
The Ascend P6 is the company’s handset from last year, so customers have been waiting quite a long for this update. There’s no word on whether Huawei will follow the same policy for the future as well, but it’s likely that this is probably the last major update the smartphone will see. Either way, customers can seek solace in the fact that they have a new version of Android on their device.
The Ascend P6 is available on a global scale as a decent midrange offering with a relatively low price as well. As always, the update will be rolled out in stages and might not appear on all devices simultaneously. If you’re one of the lucky customers to have received the update already, make sure you drop a comment below.
