Those owning the original HTC One and using them on the O2 or Three networks in the UK can now update their phone to the latest version of HTC’s proprietary UI. The company is currently rolling out the Sense 6 update to O2 and Three networks, according to its UK support page, and also to the unlocked GSM model in the country.
Sense 6 brings a refined user interface that is flatter and more colorful, improved BlinkFeed, a redesigned camera app (though without any Duo camera effects), Extreme Power Saving Mode, themes, and personalized fonts. The TV app will also be updated, and users should see an increase in performance as well, considering Sense 6 has been designed to be lighter than previous iterations. Overall, it’s almost as good as an update to a new version of Android of HTC’s yesteryear flagship, and should result in a considerably better experience than before.
Expect the update to show up on your HTC One in the coming days. It will take time to reach everyone owing to the phased nature of update rollouts, though you can try pulling it manually from the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu.
