Google's stock Email app is now available on the Play Store

Android has always offered a great email experience for Gmail users, but for those with email accounts on other services, the OS left things rather lacking with the standard Email app. However, the Email app was bought in line with the Gmail app in terms of features and design with Android 4.4 KitKat, and now, that app is available for download from the Play Store.

This is a great move on Google’s part, as it will be able to update the Email app more frequently now, as opposed to updating it only when a new version of Android comes out. Oddly, the list of compatible devices is extremely small, with only Nexus devices supported at the moment. Even Google Play editions of devices like the HTC One and Galaxy S4 aren’t supported, but hopefully that will change in the near future as a lot of Android.

You can download the Email app from the Play Store, or grab the APK from the link below if you have an unsupported device.
