The Moto G was available directly through Motorola for a long time. But Google decided to launch the smartphone through the Play Store as well, thus giving users the option to get a GPE variant of the popular Moto smartphone. This handset is now getting the Android 4.4.4 update, roughly over a week since Google started the rollout for its Nexus devices.
Interestingly, Google has skipped Android 4.4.3 in the process, perhaps after realizing that it left an OpenSSL related vulnerability. Visually, users of the GPE Moto G will notice the addition of an all new dialer which was first seen on Android 4.4.3. Barring this, there’s not much the users can expect. The usual big fixes and stability improvements are in place as well.
The update is arriving with an OTA for Moto G units, so remain patient if you don’t see it on your device yet. Make sure you let us know if the update has appeared on your GPE Moto G.
